It was fun in an 'event movie' way. The queues to go and see it were massive, and that doesn't happen all that often.
Shows that you hate Page 4
Quote: Leevil @ November 6 2010, 2:27 PM GMTIt's one of those where you have to suspend all logic and common sense. Sit back and enjoy. I was about 11 y.o when it was first out and I was like yukky romance ew. But I've got to admit, it's quite enjoyable, if like I said just take off your critque-hat for about 3 hours.
Nope. Can't do it. Now it's more of a case of sticking to my guns and just not watching it. And now being a mom I can't stand the idea of seeing floating frozen kids and babies.

And that before it sank! >_<
(I have no idea what that joke is)
Quote: Nogget @ November 6 2010, 7:24 AM GMTI can't stand the sort of show which seems to be designed to just fill up airtime with the same ole' same ole'. Things like 'Bargain Hunt', where we're supposed to be excited that the contestants have made a tenner, whilst ignoring the fact that the actual show must have cost 1000's of times more than that.
Bargain Hunt was good until they replaced the actor playing David Dickinson with somebody else.
Hah!
[quote name="Nat Wicks" post="689016" date="November 6 2010, 2:02 PM GMT"]NO. JUST NO. I'll not have this, Sooty. I've written you off as a human being now.
I think I was mainly put off by watching The Corner first the hugely superior prequel.
But the Wire, nah one of those people will be embarassed to have liked a few years on.
I liked the rubbish cop and the old drunk cop but they were minor characters. The wise cop who made dolls house furniture
The lesbian cop whose self contained
The tragic womaniser cop whose great at his job
All superficial 2 adjective characters.
The drug dealing characters not much more than a rehash of all those pious 90s ghetto epics like Juice.
You're just racist.
Did you watch all of the series? Characters at first which appear to be superficial and straight forward evolve along with the show.
How long do we have to wait until I'll start to be embarassed about it? It's been off the air for 2 and a half years, it's over eight years since the first aired.
I will give you how good The Corner was. That was fantastic. But limited due to it's true storyline. What The wire did was take the characters and themes and build a giant empire around it filled with politics, deception and violence. It's one of the most well realised 'tv worlds' I've ever seen.
I watched season 1 and about half of season 2 and chunks of the others.
An d yes I can follow plots with bits missing.
But there's only some much one will watch of that which one isn't enjoying.
I'm glad I stuck with season 2 (easily the worst. By a long way) because three especially was SO good.
Well maybe I'll have a little bit of a peak.
That bloke on the boat always made me sad

Never mind shows I hate, I hate it when people use 'one' like that. You're not the bloomin' Queen.
Honestly if you can't stomach s02, number 3 is pretty easy to pick up, because it goes back to the corners. If you still can't get on with it after watching s03, I will stop harassing you over it.
It's accurate english you ignoramous.
One find yous to be quite a Stotter.

No, just A queen. Fnar fnar.
Anyhow how do you know I ain't the queen?
