No, it means that people in need of treatment aren't turned away and now that debtors' prisons have been abolished the hospital's only recourse is to take whatever small amount of money (if any) they can get from the patient.

Again why get insurance at all?

And most companies in this country that don't get paid go for the bailifs and crashing credit ratings

:( Still, the bright orange chap did well. He has entertaining skin.

If you're talking about Florida's Republican-turned-independent Governor, Charlie Crist, he lost. To a Republican.

But more seriously what abot a chronic illnesses needing ongoing medication?

There are a number of federal, state and private programs which provide free or subsidized medication and treatment.

No. Bainer or Boner. He's been all over the news with his gay skin and saggy face.

Didn't he get into his Ivy League uni because of his dad, fly fighter jets (when he could be arsed to show up) for the National Guard (rather than going to Nam) because of his dad, and manage large corporations because of his dad?

Did his father do his homework, sit for his exams, take his flight training and handle his executive duties? Wiping W's butt and the drool off his chin must have been exhausting enough on their own, George Sr. deserves a medal for all his hard work.

Even your vaunted medicaid needs 1000s of dollars above a certain level

Yes the schemes you describe exist but they're a scary balancing act if you're poor lest you earn too much or to little

It will definitely hurt your credit rating, but if you can't afford a few hundred bucks per month for insurance then you shouldn't be worrying about credit ratings.

No. Bainer or Boner.

Boehner, but Crist is much more orange. In fact he's almost Oompa-Loompa-ish.

Sick selfish bastards how dare they want owen cars or homes or start businesses

The poor are actually in the best position because they qualify for everything. The people in the worst shape are those who are just above the cutoff line and choose not to pay for insurance. I feel for them but not if they have a $2000 television on the wall, a $50/week smoking habit and/or a couple of $40,000 SUVs in their driveway.

Do you know how low your minimun wage is?

And yes the term that used again and again is "working poor"

And what about uninsurable congenital conditions?

Do you know how low your minimun wage is?

Yes and I also know that almost no one in this country works for minimum wage. Teenagers who live with their parents do and some illegal immigrants do, but the vast majority of adults do not. We're in the midst of a major recession and millions are unemployed but places like McDonald's are still paying new employees $2/hour more than minimum wage. They won't live like kings, but 2 or 3 people in a household can hold down such low-end jobs and be able to support themselves if they are frugal.

The BBC will today broadcast a comprehensive and humiliating apology for the allegations it made eight months ago that millions of pounds of Band Aid and Live Aid money was diverted into arms sales. The money had been raised during the Ethiopian famine of 1984/5 in the biggest fundraising event the world had ever seen.

The BBC will admit that the claim was "misleading and unfair" and "should not have been broadcast".

Is she stupid or do her opponents/detractors/enemies just make a point out of attacking her at every opportunity and you feel like joining in? Obama famously claimed to have visited "all 57 states" so is he unfit to hold office?

Another reading of Palin's media gaffes is that they are very calculated to give her a bit of folksy Washington outsider credibility, while portraying her media inquisitors as smarty pants East Coast liberals who may read fancy books and quote facts but are clueless about 'real America.'

Bob Geldof will then apologise for giving food aid to Menghistu the Ethiopia Hitler

enabling him to destroy rivals food supplies and stay in office for years

weapons would have killed less people

that and not having Peaches aborted

Poor old Peaches.

Does anyone else believe the news that alcohol is more damaging the all other drugs? Or do you think like me it's a convenient news story to justify pumping up tax on booze.
