How long is a minute? If you get free minutes with your mobile, but you make 0845 calls or something else expensive, will your minutes last less than a minute?
You can't use free minutes on anything with an 08 suffix.

Thanks for clearing that up. There is so much about the World of Mobiles that I don't understand, having made do with an old PAYG phone for years... it doesn't do much, but it keeps working, which is more than a lot of modern phones do.
So further questions are: does anyone actually like touchscreens? I know an awful lot of people who have given up on them as a bad idea.
Has anyone given up on using a landline?
I've gone off touchscreens!
I want my next phone to have buttons, big lovely buttons. And lots of them.

Yep. I now use my (touchscreen) iPhone for all my calls.
I would be happy without a landline.
I would be ecstatic if I could only be reached by text or email. Or letter.
Most people only keep the land line for t'internet.
Practically the only phonecalls I ever get on the landline are offering loft insulation and Sky packages anyway. Useless.
