Bought God of War 3 last week, and started it yesterday. Epic hack n slashy goodness
What are you gaming? Page 58
Jealous.
I've been playing Red Dead today and yesterday and I have to say it's pretty boring - not what I expected at all.
I knew it would be a problem for me not having a radio on a horse but they haven't made much attempt to add humour either, which has probably surprised me the most. And the cut scenes go on for f**king ever.
Overly-long cut scenes are the worst. Especially when and in most cases the story isn't that great.
Red Dead is amazing!

That's why I can't stand stuff like Dragon Age or Mass Effect.
You can't go where you want and do what you want, you're just following a weakly branching plotline punctuated every five minutes (literally) by interminable f**king infodump-style cut-scene conversations. They bore me shitless.
Mass Affect is only game I haven't finished.

It's boring Nat. It's not amazing at all. What's amazing about it? You can ride a horse over miles of countryside in Assassin's Creed. You can shoot people and hold up trains in Call of Juarez. I can't think of anything new that it brings to the table and it has the worst aspect of the GTA games - the missions that you always fail first time not because they're difficult but because you can't work out what to do or where to go. I'm only on the second chapter but it's seriously boring.
Oh well, agreeing to disagree it is

I have to say I don't recall having this problem with Red Dead.
(We didn't either, I don't think)

I was actually asking you what you thought was amazing about it, not being rhetorical. I'm interested to know because the consensus IS that's amazing and I can see why people like most games not this one.

Eep sorry. For me it was the graphics and the game mechanics (which just felt very very smooth and natural for what it was) as well as the story line, which sucked me right in! I also thought that it was an extremely 'full' game, what with the variety of side games/missions etc to complete on top of the main story.
I know the shooting mechanics wouldn't appeal to many people, but it did to me as I'm generally not great at manual shooters. I like auto aim

To quote Marina and the Diamonds.
"Oh My Gowsh!" Auto Aim! Lol!!
With the mission thing I mean that it's not often obvious what to do - go left or right for example - or instructions appear too late - as in Red Dead where an instruction told me that the horse would keep galloping but would not necessarily stick to the road AFTER I'd fallen down a ravine. It's not a big moan, it's just that often missions are not really hard, just glitchy or badly explained.
A simple example in Gay Tony is the parachuting into the speedboat bit from one of Mori's missions. It tells you to land IN the boat, but you'll never pass the mission 100% by doing that. You actually have to land ON the boat - ie on the deck and not behind the controls.
