Ah must just of been morning-itis.
Gah, I've been approached to do a spot at a local comedy night, but it's the same night as I'm back at Laughing Lasses (which I love). I don't know whether it is worth seeing if I can double, or whether that will piss people off, I don't know if it's bad form for oobs to double up.
Ooh er!
But seriously I'd only do it if you're certain you can make both gigs.
Not turning up is a major no no.
Otherwise how many gigs now/ you're turning into quite the comedic dynamo.
It doesn't matter anyway- I think the guy is going to move the second gig by the sounds of it. I'm still only on 5 gigs I haven't had one for a couple of weeks and I'm getting VERY twitchy.
5 bloody nora thaz alot.
Still I suppose it is oop north where people need to laugh more.
5 isn't a lot, by all accounts seeing as I've been gigging 2 months now. I really need to pass my driving test

Yeh join the driver club! It's wicked and bad.
I have no idea if 5 is good or bad sounds alright though. Whats the pay like?
The pay is ntohing! Open mic circuit, bebbeh. Gotta prove yourself first with a couple of years of graft.

Ahhhh I see.
So this is the training montage bit?

Why not try some promotion companies like mirth control? I got paid (badly) on my second gig with them.
That and get an aces recording of your work. A chum of mine who's dead good (he was an actor already and very amenable) recorded his first gig and got paid on his second. He now makes proper standup money.
I mean if you're good sell yourself like one of those Apprentice whores.
Or start your own night. I mean if the Bussell can do it anyone can do it.
It's very very rare that you can jump to paid gigs straight away- you've either got to be lucky, amazing, or in the 1980s. I have recorded a couple of videos but wasn't happy with any of them. Next recording Nov 12th.
I won't be starting my own night because there are lots of vanity nights opening up in the North East recently, and really we don't need any more.
Ellie is determined not to get as stressed as she was yesterday due to work.
