Lead Balloon - Series 1 Page 5

Quite possible that that's what I saw, thanks!

While disappointing, at least we now know not to expect it in September.

Hopefully, it will be worth the wait. (I have no reason to think that it won't.)

Anybody want to be in the next series?

Scenes for the fourth series of Lead Balloon feature an awards ceremony - Rick is mistakenly identified as a hero, and asked to present the Brave Britain Awards as a result.

We are looking for a studio audience to take part in filming the imaginary awards ceremony this Friday, 29th October, at The Zoroastrian Centre, 440 Alexandra Avenue, Harrow HA2 9TL (nearest tube: Rayners Lane or North Harrow) from 11am until approximately 3pm. All audience members will be seen on camera and are asked to dress in evening wear: black tie or smartly dressed!

Booking is now open and may apply online via our website at http://www.sroaudiences.com

The minimum age for attendance at this show is 16.

We shall notify successful applicants as quickly as possible by email with their eticket. Unsuccessful applications will remain in the waiting list in case of returns.

Unpaid extras?

Looks like it. I'm thinking about it. Anyone else going? I've got a black tie.

I can confirm a new series is currently in production as Rick Spleen's house is down the road from me and the cameras are rolling.

I mistakingly thought they were filming last year but it was for an advert. This time I asked the crew and they are filming Lead Balloon.

Oooh!

Is 'Spleen' supposed to be the stage name of the character?

No it's the character's real name.

(isn't it??)

The character's real name is Rick Shaw. https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/lead_balloon/characters/

Oooh, never knew that!

I have just re-watched S1 after being introduced to 'Curb' and can definitely see parallels, although Larry's a much more likeable character. It's aged well.

I only saw a couple of Curbs but loved Lead Balloon being a fan of Jack Dee.

Were there really 4 series?

Indeed, plus at least one Christmas special. The ending was rather disappointing though.
