Most naturally funny man in the UK Page 3
It's difficult to say... Regarding Boris, this clip with Boris Johnson and Jeremy Paxman, is quite funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA7e3pwQtnM
This is all subjective surely??
You can't quantatively "prove" the best comedian can you?? And it just can't be based on popularity can it??
I also notice that in comedy there are "fads" and therefore what is considered "good" or "cringeworthy" changes over the years.
Even within that one phrase there is a vast range of difference - naturally funny can mean quick off the mark or off the cuff funny, like Paul Merton, Spike Milligan, Peter Cook or Eric Morecambe or someone with a deep store of funniness in their being and a brilliantly funny performer of set routines and characters like Peter Sellers, Benny Hill, Rik Mayall, Steve Coogan, Ronnie Barker and Rob Brydon. All of these I would say were naturally very funny.
Kitson.

Shame no one will ever know since he can't go on bloody TV.
Quote: buyon ferry @ September 12 2010, 6:59 PM BSTI would say Ricky Gervais based on his radio work, sitcom writing/acting, interviews (Parkinson especially).
Gervais is so one-dimensional. He's not in the same league as Coogan for characters, acting and writing.

I like him...but even I'd say you were attributing more dimensions to his comedy than is fair!

I don't think it is matter of "can't" - more a matter of "doesn't want to".
He's like a comedy ninja.

That loser!
I always think it's because he's too shy, but I assume it's more that he hates commercialism or something.
I'd say it's a mixture of the two.
That double-loser!
YOU'RE a loser.

I believe he claims it is a lack of freedom. He cannot do as he likes on TV or radio, whereas on stage he has the freedom to do whatever jokes and routines he feels.
