I've just seen... Page 60

City of God. Very good, and well worth all the plaudits. Although I was a bit anxious to start with, as it opens with a chicken running for its life.

Great film.

Yeah I loved it! May rewatch this weekend.

Were any chickens scared to death in the making of this film?

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, seventies version. You just don't get that same creeping atmosphere in modern films.

It's a great film, and taps into that deep-seated fear we all have of being pointed at in the street and screamed at.

However, I do think Abel Ferrara's Body Snatcher's is a pretty darned creepy and another good version of Jack Finney's book.

I watched the original last week, and that was really great too. I'll do Ferrara's next; I've seen it before, but it must have been fifteen years ago. Not sure if it's worth bothering with the recent Nicole Kidman version.

Just saw Despicable Me, it's so cute, good clean fun.

Just watched Jumper
I quite enjoyed it, although the end was a bit meh.

King of Kong is still the favourite movie I've seen recently.

If you liked city of God try city of men as well, it was a series made after the film very similar but a bit more light hearted.

I keep meaning to get City of Men. I definitely will now.

Public Enemies. Great film. James Elroy had quite a rant when it came out saying Johnny Depp wasn't masculine enough to play Dillinger, but he's very good in it.

I turned that off after about 20 minutes.

Even though it had Johnny Depp in it and you are a girl?
