A few months back, I sent an email to Stel Pavlou, who wrote '51st State', which starred Samuel L. Jackson. I told him I'd written my first script, and asked him to give me some advice, about whether I should have a go at getting it made into a film, or just stick to it being a sitcom. Anyway, I finally got a reply today. First he apologised for taking so long, blaming the fact that he recently got married. Then he advised me to go for whatever I love the most, out of sitcoms or films. He said he'd tried to get stuff on T.V. many times in the past, but had failed each time. He said he'd found the process of getting a script made into a film, much easier.
By the way, I know Stel pavlou may seem like a pretty random person to ask for advice. The main reason I did it, was because '51st State' was filmed/set in my hometown, Liverpool, which is where my story also takes place.
