Help with name of sitcom! Page 2

Surely no one would concoct a "what was that sitcom" thread out of sheer mischievousness? Which reminds me, it was a British comedy broadcast in Australia in the mid-80s, about a lawyer (or maybe he was something else - he wore a suit) who is divorced but then his daughter and her punk rocker boyfriend come to live with him, upsetting his romance with his new girlfriend. Can anyone remember what it's called?
4's a crowd
Hi guys! Sorry for creating such a problem! It wasn't Outside Edge and Pauline Quirke wasn't in it either. I think the first series ended with the girl breaking her engagement with the fiance and it wasn't till the end of the second series that she actually got together with the neighbour. The fiance challenges the neighbour to a fight (I think it was a boxing match) and although the neighbour is skinny and not a fighter at all and the girl is dead against it, in the end he goes ahead with the fight. I can't remember who won it but at the end the girl is furious that they fought and storms out. He goes into the shower with his face and hands bruised and cut from the fight thinking the girl has left him for good. Then someone pulls back the shower curtain and it's her. They say something to each other (I can't remember exactly what) and then she kisses him and that was the end.
Do you remember ANY actors (even in minor supporting roles) from anywhere else?
As Aaron asks, was it set in a particular city?
Was it definitely ITV?
Do you remember any character names?
This is driving me insane now Rosie. I hope you're happy.
'Downwardly Mobile'?
Made in 1994, Yuppie theme, and stars Frances de la Tour with a blond bob.
Sorry Shaggy292! Didn't mean to drive anyone insane! Honest!
I can't remember any of the actors' names. I can picture the two main characters in my mind but the other ones are hazy. They had good chemistry so they stuck in my mind (though not the names sadly!). I don't think it was set in any particular town/city. A middle class outer London area I guess. I vaguely remember that either the woman or the man of the hippie couple were familiar to me at the time and every time I think could it be this actor I look the actor up on IMDb and go through what they have been in but so far haven't come across the sitcom I'm looking for so assume I was not thinking of the right actor. I think it was ITV but now I'm wondering could it have been Channel 4! But from what I remember it doesn't seem like a comedy Channel 4 would make. Definitely wasn't BBC and I don't think Channel 5 was around at that time. Wish I hadn't started this thread now!

No, that wasn't it. I seem to recall a cat being stuck up a tree during the opening credits, if that's any help.
If it was a sitcom it would probably be listed in the massive list of them on here, you might have to look through them all.

Was it the infamous 'Have you seen my pussy?' ...the follow up to '4's a crowd'?

No, that definitely wasn't it. I'm fairly confident it was a British show, but it might have been a New Zealand show, now I think about it. No, I'm pretty sure it was British because I think each episode was preceded by the Thames logo and music. I do remember from the opening credits that it's the punk boyfriend who rescues the kitty from the tree.
Australian version?
'Have you seen my pussy down under?'
Pardon my Zinger?
Nope, neither of those, although I think the senile doctor from Pardon My Zinger might have been a guest star in one episode, playing the snooty proprietor of an upmarket clothing boutique.
upmarket clothing boutique.....
Ah...then it has to be 'Not in your size Madam!'
