I Heart Huckabees
The life aquatic with Steve Zissou
Hmmmm
Not really sure about any of them.

This was my reaction too.

Putters-O-Meter Verdict: Overrated.

Rushmore is a great film.

While I've been having a catch up I also watched Cloverfield.
I liked it.
Although because of the Camera work I was expecting it to be quite low budget.

I found Cloverfield quite 'meh', really.

I really liked Cloverfield!

A French film called Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis (English title is Welcome to the Sticks). It's wonderful. The lead actor shows what Bernard Bresslaw would have been like if he'd been French.

Oh forgot to say we watched American: The Bill Hicks Story the other day. I've never paid a lot of attention to Hicks, but it was a very interesting watch.

I really enjoy Wes Anderson films and consider them 'authored' more than pretentious for the most part. I Heart Huckabees on the other hand...

Puh. Populated by entirely punchable characters. There were some good bits though.

The first half hour of Cloverfield was instantly forgettable. But once the attack starts it's great. And the bit when they go up a tower block leaning against another is awesome and wholly original.

I'm with Chip. The action sequences were great. So long you're rooting for the monster it's a good film.

Just watched [Rec]. Rather good Spanish zombie flick in the Cloverfield/Blair Witch "found footage" style.

Is a good film. And the "posession" angle at the end is g nice twist, completely jettisoned from the remake.

[rec] is very very good, I'm a big fan. The second one isn't quite a good, but it's unrelenting and very entertaining.

Exactly this. The people are knobheads but I just love how it's done. I found it easier to watch when I didn't care about any of them surviving.
