Is there any way you can make it so some of your "friends" can't read your updates?

Yes, when you're about to post a status update there's a little padlock on the bottom right of the status box. You can limit it to certain people.

I always do fb culls - but I don't believe Kevin would.

I avoid culls by hardly ever adding anyone.

I did a very large fb cull about 2 years ago when I got rid of people I went to school with who basically I didn't give to shits about. People I keep on now, are people I still see, people I can use as contacts in the future, you lot, and people I met travelling who I shared a special experience with.
