Wow, you're joking, right?! Rooney is the most talented English player there is at the moment.
Anyway, apart from us being without many of our best players, due to injury, the 3 main things that went wrong tonight, were:
1. Mclaren playing such an inexperienced goalie
2. Mclaren not playing Beckham from the start. His passing ability is of such a high standard, that he doesn't have to rely on speed, as much as most players do. He could easily carry on until the World Cup in 2010, even if he will be 35, and has slowed down a bit by then.
3. The authorities allowing a recent American Football game to be played at Wembley. The pitch was in such a bad state, that when I first switched the T.V. on, I thought they were playing at another ground.
Anyway, let's face facts, we wouldn't have stood a cat in Hell's chance of winning the tournament.
So were Croatia playing on another pitch then?
