I am reviving this thread, as it is nearly that time of year again. Search has begun for my Halloween costume. Previous years have included: Gogo Yubari, Zombie Fussilier, Vampire (snore). I want something awesome, and possibly a bit girly. When I eventually lose weight, I will be either Jesse from Team Rocket, or Cheetarah, but lycra is not a good look for me right now.
Panic over, I've decided on Poison Ivy. Already found a wig. Awesome.

It wasn't CITV you silly boy. It was 4Kids Entertainment when it was converted for an American audience.
And it was because it was one of the first Japanese animes to hit US mainstream, who weren't used to the idea of strong male characters displaying supposed femanine characteristics, so it made far more sense to camp him up. Really, James loves the boobies. There are few originals which were never aired in the West which will show you this fact
