The Unicorn

TWO SCIENTISTS ARE STANDING IN FRONT OF AN IMPORTANT LOOKING MAN IN A SUIT.

SCIENTIST 1:
Due to astounding leaps in the fields of genetics & cloning we have managed to achieve the unthinkable.

SCIENTIST 2:
We have managed to Bring back the... Unicorn.

PAN TO A MAGNIFICENT UNICORN OF PURE WHITE.

SCIENTIST 1:
If that doesn't secure our grant, then I don't know what will.

MAN IN SUIT:
It's Incredible, It's unbelievable !

THE UNICORNS HORN DROPS OFF & ROLLS ALONG THE FLOOR. THE TWO SCIENTISTS LOOk EMBARASSED.

SCIENTIST 2:
That's a bloody hard Gene to get right that, the old Horn.

Is that a Cornetto?

I like the Cornetto. Or "Is that my Cornetto?"

I liked this. The first ending worked better for me if you keep it at this length. If you chose to extend it with them trying to get the situation back under control the the cornetto one would fit in nicely too.

Why not both endings? The lines do not appear mutually exclusive, so you can get a second punch in.

Very nice. I think both endings like suggested would be my favouritest.

This is a contender for the funniest sketch ever written if you go with the 'Cornetto' ending.

I can imagine it performed by Pete and Dud, by the Two Ronnies and by Mitchell and Webb and going down in history as one their funniest.

Why?

Because it's extremely funny.

As Ming said, I could see this very successfully being given the Mitchell and Webb treatment. Although maybe it would need to be wordier with them trying to explain/excuse. I know several research scientists who, in these circumstances would try to claim that not only succeessfully re-animated a unicorn, but that they had now discovered that unicorn horns are made of cornetto. They would then request funding for in depth research on the flavour of said cornettos.

It ended on the old Horn line originally
and then Nil Putters suggested a Cornetto idea so I wrote the other line to possibly be added on at the end rather than replace anything.
