Well, how many people have actually eaten a bunch of it? Maybe that is exactly what happens.
Hmm?
Think of that?
HMM?

He ate quite a small amount, and many people, to answer both questions!!
To quote Will, "Feisty one, you are!"
Maybe that did happen to the writer, but if it did, it's very odd.

The arm spaz bit wasn't the only wrong note, drug wise. People were stoned after inhaling one puff!

But they were just pretending to be 'cool', so fair enough.

I was not inhaled.

This happens. Trust me. My "friend" has this problem.
Look, it was a funny episode but it was an unrealistic portrait of taking drugs. And no, I don't want Trainspotting realism, just something that doesn't feel quite so false.

Was Trainspotting realistic? I've never done heroin, but I would guess swimming in a toilet lagoon and seeing dead babies crawl on the ceiling isn't usually part of the deal.

It was more realistic in that it didn't feel false. This did. It made me laugh, but the writers know tit all about cannabis.
I just took it as a piss take of what some teenagers can be like after taking drugs and they want to show off and pretend they're more stoned than they actually are. As for the arms, well that would be normal for Will to get panicky and have an over-reaction to a new or stressful situation - look what happened when he was revising and then sat in the exam.
It made me laugh which, in the end, is all I'm watching it for.
For me the drug bits didn't quite work. End of.

You have a terribly short memory. Have you been smoking something?
A very good episode tainted by an unrealistic portrayal of drugs.
The effect the hash had on Will was plausible enough for someone who had never had any before and I can buy into the fact that something similar happened to the writer.
But the reason it didn't work was that Will just didn't look like he was stoned, ie his facial expression and the way he talked. High on speed? Perhaps. Coke? Maybe. But he certainly didn't look like he was stoned. In fact he didn't look like he had taken anything at all. It was just Will, sober, going off on a big panic attack.
Is there any way the scene can be re-shot? This time Simon King should ACTUALLY eat a load of hash for the 1st time and then do the acting. Could be the best episode yet if they do.
