I think modern TV writing is as good as it's always been.

If you take the story of Cinderella for instance, if anything that has been sold less, it used to be much more bloodthirsty.
Does that mean the bad writers have been at it?

A story written by an idiot would probabaly contain a similar and or simian gramatical error such as "to time consuming", as was penned by the creator of this thread.
There are a lot of self-proclaimed, head-up-own-ass Prima Donnas around who think they are good writers.
And of course, you are so lucky that there are none of those whatsoever on BCG... <ahem>
As for a writing partner, I'd say find it may be better to find one organically rather than go fishing around forums on the off chance, geezer! Also, post some of your work in Critique and tag onto the end of your piece that you'd like to write with others. Maybe you'll tickle someone's fancy?
But hey, I met my writing and filming pals via a website (not this one, mind..) but we met up in a pub to talk first before doing any comedy together and it has been a long old haul since then (about 4 years) and we are still honing what we do and trying to write something we think is good (as is the way..)
A lot of fun has been had, that has been the main thing.

I disagree with that. I think if you're good you won't necessarily sell your script but if you do get to sell your script then it must be good. Therefore, anyone who sells a script has written a good script.
And by good I don't oscar winning standard. I mean the script is good enough for whatever it's meant for e.g. dumbed down script for dumbed down show

EDIT: I just looked on Wikipedia and lab rats only ran for a series so my arguement would be the producers tried it, thinking it was good but dropped it when it turned out rubbish. Professional mistake, and obviously the first scripts make a good impression

I have checked this definition of good in the dictionary. It doesn't seem to hold up. It comes back to scale really and putting things in perspective by making comparisons. All scripts that are sold are not all good.
