Sketch comedy writers wanted

Hello writers,

Messrs Comedy are a new live-sketch company and we are opening up submissions for our next production which is currently pencilled in for early November.

Our aim is to showcase work from aspiring writers and after our three-night sell out show at the Hen & Chickens Theatre, we are now looking to ride on that success.

We ask writer's to submit material of varying styles, themes and influences and we just make the simple demand of minimal technical requirements and no more than five minutes in length.

Messrs Comedy are a two-man sketch show however we have a troupe of three fantastic female actresses so please bare this in mind when submitting.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Happy writing.

All the best,

James Britton& Hugh O'Shea

NOTE: All submissions in Microsoft Word format or Adobe.

Email: messrscomedy@googlemail.com

I'd better come up with something new-the thing I was planning to send has already been subbed. Haven't really got many sketches 'doing the rounds' at the moment though. Think, Tim, think...

Moved thread - should get noticed in here.

Great stuff. Thanks, Hugh.

Just submitted a few sketches to this.

Did anyone else enter this? I received an email back from them saying they liked what I sent them and asked for more. I sent them a few more sketches but havent heard anything since.

I forgot all about this!
But it does say on London Comedy Writers that the deadline is later on either this month or next. :S

Congrats on them liking your stuff, Otterfox. :)

Cheers Marooned. Not sure what will happen next but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I slightly missed the deadline but I did get one into the maybe pile

I got an e-mail back from them last week saying I'd got something in the shortlist for the new show. Woo hoo!

Although there is a read through on Sunday 31st so still another hurdle to go...

I got 4 into the shortlist but I won't count my chickens just yet. Was delighted when I got the mail though :D

You must be in though, surely, with 4? They'd have to be very evil to cut you with 4 in the shortlist...

(Muhahahahahahahahahahahaha...!!!)

Anyone receive any updates on this since?
