Info on possible deaths of TV stars

There are certain TV stars of days gone by who I'm not sure whether they are still alive or not.

One is John Horsley of You Rang M'Lord fame. I have asked Roy Gould, but he was unsure. I'm not sure what hope that leaves for the rest of you, but if anyone knows then that would be great.

Another is Angela Scouler of You Rang M'Lord fame, I believe she is, or was, married to Leslie Phillips.

Any info would be great. Thanks.

Angela is alive but suffering from Bowel cancer according to Wikipedia.
That's probably your best bet for this sort of info.

Oh, that's not good. Didn't know that.

Yeah have looked in all the usual places, IMDB, Wikipedia etc. Sometimes, those sites aren't the best sources.

I think if they died then you might see the date on Wikipedia or more likely some details or obituaries online.
can't see any for John Horsley, if he's alive he must be about 95 or so now.

I would imagine he's perhaps in a care home or something, as yeah he must be about 95 now. Hasn't been on TV for years.

Yea according to Wikipedia and IMDB, John Horsley was born in 1915 which would make him 95 yrs old.

I've been trying to find out if the actress Annette Kerr is still alive but nobody seems to know exactly.

Annette Kerr is an English actress born in 1920. She has made numerous appearances in films and on television.

Kerr is also frequently referred to in The Kenneth Williams Diaries edited by Russell Davies and it seems he was very fond of her and they were good friends who also worked with each other in theatre productions.

Her many television appearances included roles in shows such as U.F.O in 1970, 2 Point 4 Children as Dora Grimes in the 1990s and she also appeared in Londons Burning in 1992. according to the IMDb her last credited role was in One Foot In The Grave as Ruth in 1995, this marked her second appearance in the show following a part as Lady In Teashop in 1992.

Wikipedia.

That's been the same for a few years, no concrete proof anywhere on if she's still alive.

And plus, it was me who created that Wikipedia page :P Based on what I already knew about her.

Babar Bhatti from It Aint Half Hot Mum?

I've found a general rule with these people to be that if Wikipedia et. al say nothing, then they're still alive. If they die, then obituaries pop up and pages are updated.

Yea I know Wikipedia gets some stick sometimes but I generally do think that if they say someone is still alive then they are still alive.

So I really have very little doubt about Annette Kerr. I'm sure she is still alive.

Could we possibly rename this the 'Who's dead thread'? I mean, let's not beat about the bush.

Bit of sensitivity, John.

Ok, he's American but I was going to do a joke about the horse playing Mr Ed and I found he had his obituary (i.e. Bamboo Harvester) while still alive:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mister_Ed#Death

Let's hope he couldn't read as well.
