Arnab Chanda

Anyone else like this guy? I saw him on Edinburgh and Beyond recently then checked out some more of his stuff on YouTube and found quite a bit of it very amusing, especially when he was talking about a hippy lady on TV who was talking about how we should love the earth, saying "Did you know that Earth is an anagram of heart?" and it's like "Yeah? Well 'pear' is an anagram of 'rape' - should I start hating pears now?"

His material is all pretty sarcastic, which perhaps explains why he used to write for Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He also has a very likeable personality though as he is quite self-deprecating. Just wondered if anyone else had seen him and what they thought?

Yeah I saw him at Old Rope a couple of months ago- even doing new material he was very good. Went down as one of the best acts of the night. Very likable.

Cool, I'd like to see him live. He does seem to have a lot of rape jokes but he does them with such charm that you still warm to him. This is a talent.

He uses the word a lot, but I am yet to see him use a victim as a punchline. And in most of his rape jokes, he's the target. I do think he overuses it though. He's lucky in that it's just funny enough to justify it.

He probably does overuse it but I think some comedians overuse things on purpose and try to acknowledge the fact. I don't think he does ever use a victim as the punchline, as I think no matter how clever the joke is it's still something that just shouldn't be done.
