Yeah I know what you mean. I didn't spend much time with the chimps because I was starting to get depressed.
One of the reasons I love that picture so much is how muman the eyes are. So sad and beautiful.

Yes. Sorry to harp on about gorillas, but their eyes are totally human (muman). They genuinely look like a guy wearing a furry suit. Especially when they get up and wander around. They're actually pretty disturbing and surreal.
You should visit monkey world in Dorset.
Full of liberated monkeys and gibbons 'n shit. They're well happy and have formed their own communities.
