Thanks, Marc - think my definition is probably closer to the truth.

@Bushbaby - I don't understand your response re: the three phone-calls. Am I being dense?

Don't hold your breath on the Thora Hird one, by the way.

:D This was some years back, she rang and recommended I forwarded it to Alan Bell. I [idiot] thought she was just being kind so never forwarded it to him.

The other two calls were, one from the beeb and one from the Head of Comedy ITV; Ch 4 sent my script to him and it was he that rang me, not CH 4....my memories fading :D

Is anybody entering this contest?

What's it to you?

..submitted to Thora Hird.

Fnnaar fnaar.

What does fnaar mean? I sent it to Thora Hird because the lead character was her age. She loved the script and said she'd loved to have played the part but she was ill and didn't work much at all. It wasn't long after that she died.

Fnaar means a double entendre.

I'm popping one in this week.

Delivering a large package to the BBC's slot?

I'm giving it a miss. I had a script that needed some work, but even after spending hours on my own fiddling with it, I just wasn't satisfied. I should have maybe brought somebody else in to try and tighten it up and give it a polish. I did show it to a friend, but he said it was far too short, although it did give him a good laugh. And he said my balls were too hairy as well.

Do we have to resubmit our comedy writing CV's? Because mine hasn't changed since the last time I submitted anything to Michael. Unimpressed

(Actually that's more a :( )

I should think so, just add the CV at the end of the script.

But how will I know it's you?

Submitted mine just now :)

I don't think what I wrote will win although I wasn't really thinking about the contest when writing it. I finished it more for the pleasure of writing it which is nice since recently I've been struggling to write.

Hi Asperations is away.

I shall be watching BBC New 24 none stop for the next 3 weeks.

Waiting for news flash about undiscovered comedy genius saving the BBC.

You taking the piss? ;)
