I might make a video to go with David Bowies 'The Laughing Gnome' song. Anyone know any sitcoms that have gnomes in them? If you know the series number and even episode no. that would be helpful.
Two I can already think of are:
- One foot in the grave (there are a few episodes with gnomes)
- Fawlty Towers.
- Coronation St had a gnome story with Derik and Mavis (might see if I can find some footage.

Sounds pretty scary. A fun enough throwaway song, but seeing it set to gnomes in sitcoms... Probably not my cup of tea.
Anyways, The Young Ones. Series 2, Episode 5: Sick. David Rappaport plays a gnome. He was also one of the Seven Dwarves in the final series of The Goodies, in the episode Snow White 2.
And of course the Underpants Gnomes in South Park - Season 2, Episode 17.

And there's the George & Mildred movie, where George holds his broken garden gnome at 7 minutes 30 seconds, and Tristram says something from behind, causing George to think the gnome is talking.

Alison's parents in Chance In A Million had gnomes. I've found the episode "The Lost Weekend" (Series 2 Episode 3) on YouTube - the gnomes appear from about 1.50 in...

It's only recently been released on DVD here (don't know about New Zealand) - this video was put up before the DVD release but the quality isn't too bad.

Not a sitcom, but there is the garden gnome sequence in the Full Monty and there is a running gag about gnomes on Phineas and Ferb, if that helps.
I was thinking of Full Monty too, and Amelie. But can't think of any other sitcoms...

There was a short lived and deeply un-PC BBC1 sitcom called A Small Problem about dwarves.
I think some of them may have dressed up as gnomes?
And there's a Dutch kids' show about gnomes who live in a mushroom and sing about shitting on ducks.
It's on YouTube somewhere which I can't get at work.
Yeah, we love Phineas and Ferb here. On average I have anywhere from 4 to 6 children at my house for the weekend, so we watch a bit of TV.
I remember a cartoon too. I think it was called the Little Gnomes and it was horrible.
