Death Of Mainstream American Comedy? Page 3

There are quite a few good comedy shows here in the US. As far as hour comedy we have Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Reaper, Monk, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Psych and Burn Notice. And sitcoms Samantha Who?, Carpooling, Two And A Half Men, Notes From The Underbelly, Sarah Silverman and maybe there isn't a lot of good sitcoms. There are good ones, but not enough. Isn't it the same everywhere? I like british sitcoms better. As the english speaking world goes, the US and Britian have the best shows anywhere.

But then, the US and Britain pretty much ARE the English-speaking-world. ;)

Now, now, the Falkland Islands have produced a marvellous new sitcom called 'That Guy That Lives In A Shed'.

Yeah, lets say they are. Don't tell Australia. You know how they are.

Yes, they're so damned...ummmm...Australian.....

Not to mention Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and Gibralta.

With their extensive comedy output to the world. Ahem.

Canada has some great comedy, namely Trailer Park Boys and Corner Gas.

And the Kids in The Hall.

And now NZ has the Conchords. And we know how much Aaron loves them.

Unimpressed

And now NZ has the Conchords.

Although the Conchords are from New Zealand it's a HBO show set in New York so I tend to think of it as American. Just like the fairly mediochre show they did for Radio 2 I think of as British.

On the subject of the Death of Mainstream American Comedy, if it keeps resurrecting itself, I'd be happy to come and beat it with a stick!!! ;)
