I'll put my thinking cap on, but other than buying one or calling in favours somehow, it does look like a bit of a pain. Everyone should give in a poound towards a whiteboard or something. ;)

That's what I was going to suggest. Set up a paypal donation page and we shall all put in £1 to the whiteboard fund!

I really liked the last place too. Meant we could play the games without everyone watching too and thinking what a bunch of geeks. This new place is really open and I'll feel embarrassed.

Never be embarrassed by geekdom! Embrace it.

You can get just a plain A3 one for about a tenner, but it'd have to be propped up on a wall or held up.

You'll be sloshed and totally unaware of other people, foregoing all notion of shame or humility.

Again.

And the last place was fine for atmosphere, but far too small. Did anyone apart from Ellie have an objection to The Anchor last time (Christmas 2008)?

ah ha! The opportunity of becoming sloshed.
Count me in, plz.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotamy.

I'm happy to put in a £1 too.

I liked the previous pub, it may have been a bit of a tight squeeze, but I think there were more attendees last time?

It's not so much being embarressed playing pictionary in the middle of a pub, but the other people in the pub might be a bit pissed at us being all loud and hilarious.

A big thank you to Ellie for organising.

Then they can f**k off into another area.

Isn't a bunch of people meeting up and drinking and talking what pubs are built for? Do we need a padded section? It wasn't that rammed last time.

Without a reserved area it would be difficult for new meeters-up to find the right mob.

Poor Ellie, guys. She always works really hard to organise this for us all, so I'm sure we'll find a way to make what she's sorted out work. I don't see much of a problem with it in the first place, to be honest, but it must be touch to sort out. Everyone just asks when the next one is and then complains about things!

I'll wear a big hat. Or a Tshirt that says. "I'm with Stupid." Or an umbrella!

I'm helping! :D

I agree- it will be excellent, and Ellie is a good hard worker.

Ellie can we give you pennies for a white board at the meet ? And buy you a drink for organising the whole thing.

I'm not sure that one phone call is "working really hard". ;)

Sad to say, but I can officially be counted not attending. I will be having a bunch of tests done the day before, but I am one step closer to attending some day. I have my passport and the money for the trip!!!! So, someday...

Can all come round my place if you like. Got a Nintendo Wii and a fridge full of pies.

You sound like quite the babe magnet. Pleased

I'd disagree with this, but I managed to sit opposite everyone at the first one and not recognise them til Danny turned up.

Heaven forbid your cool factor goes down! Whatever will Heat magazine say?!
