About a day or until the capitalist pigs squeal for mercy.

I'm squealing

I saw that picture. Whoever you are?

On a 5 mile drive within London on Friday I only had TWO people step
out without looking and only ONE stick the nose of his car too
far out on joining and only ONE nearly ram me at
a roundabout. A quiet days driving in Lunnon really. :-)

:S :S Teary :(

HELP LONDON PEOPLE.

I've have to get from Charing Cross to near Euston tommorow morning.

I understand there is a tube strike.

What is going to be the best way to go?

Taxi? ( If there is any chance of gettig one)

Bus?

Walk?

Walk to Trafalgar Square then
I think a number 29 bendy bus goes from Trafalgar Square up Charing Cross Road and up Tottenham Court Rd to the vicinity of Euston.
You my need to walk the last bit.

<later> http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

Gp to http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/gettingaround/maps/buses/

Type in 29 for thr number of the bus route and then click on switch directions

Then use the magnify button to see the sothern portion of the route and you will see that it passes Warren St Station. Get off at the next stop after Warren St Station and then walk along Euston Road about 300 yards to Euston.

.

Why not go on another day??

Nah on the morning I won't be in London til 10:30ish. Will have to go to Islington at rush hour though, but it's not far.

Maybe a stupid question- but do buses operatre differently than normal outside-of-london buses? Can I use my oyster card?

You can use your oyster card on a bus, yes.

Score. Do I need to beep on the way on and off or just when I get on?

Yup it's £1 or £1.20 a journey,

On way in only.

Walking it is for me. Got my route sorted.

I love arriving at meetings a nice sweaty mess.

NO you won't need to walk much.

See my note above.

Walk to Trafalgar Square.
Bus 29 to Warren Street (next stop after)
Walk to Euston.

Actually if by chance you are going to Friends House get off at Warren Street bus stop and walk along the south edge of Euston Road, because that building is on the south side of Euston Road.

<later>

But the number 91 bus is even easier... see message below.

For a bus only when you get on

For Tube/Undergrund you beep on getting in and on getting out.

Oyster card charging automatically limits the total amount charged per day as if it was a day pass (with a discount, I think).

My evil work have disabled me using any mass storage devises on the laptop. I don't think there is going to be any way of me getting DVDs on this stupid thing.

Actually Bigfella, the 29 is not the easiest route,

Having twiddled with the TFL route Planner I see that, as said above, a number 91 bus takes you from Charing Cross to Euston directly via a more easterly route.

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/gettingaround/maps/buses/

If you start at this page: http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en&ptOptionsActive=1

You can type in your FROM and TO and then at the bottom de-select everything except busses and it will then show the best bus journeys.

Yeah Bill, but it'll also be crammed with every other sweaty, annoyed commuter who can't get on the Tube. He's happy walking; it's not far, and in London traffic might not take much longer.

Interesting recipe of the Good Food channel this morning...

Laughing out loud

Very gamey very red, looks good need some careful cooking though.

It wasn't gamy at all. The dove was very popular and disappeared quickly.

Here they are in a more palatable state:

I like gmaey, so unlike pigeon it isn't gamey?

Why do I suspect there's a liberal turning on a spit somewhere out back?
