A Novel.
There I wrote it.
NaNoWriMo is coming up soon - in November as usual. It's really good practise for a 50,000 word novel.
I'm probably trying it again this year.

What's this obsession with a 50,000 word novel? No one ever talks about a 50,000 word screenplay or so on.
It's just to set a target. It's good discipline and I completed it in 2007 although I failed miserably the last two years. Too many distractions.

But there is 175 page play for Script frenzy.
It's probably the shortest amount of words for a novel. Under that and it is a novella.

People do talk about word count in regards to different script lengths, though. Such as a half hour sitcom.
I suppose they settled on 50,000 because it's just about doable. Any more and it would just feel impossible.
