Ratings of Shows

A Google search of Guardian and ratings seem to show the recent ratings of various sitcoms and comedy dramas. I've placed them in order. Note the date shows when the ratings were reported, not when the programme was shown.

Married Single Other 6.2 million (22 February)

Miranda 3 million (30 November)

Big Top 3.3 million (2 December)

Rev 2 million (28 June)

Grandma's House 1.8 million (9 June)

Rab C. Nesbit 1.7 million (4 February)

Bellamy's People 1.2 million (21 January)

Skins -nearly 1 million (28 January)

Is that all Skins gets?
Losers.

We're a little lax to record them at times.

Well it is on very late!! That's why I keep missing it. They are idiots imoo, I would definitely watch this if it was on at a sensible time. Don't they want more viewers?

Christ, Skins. Sick

Skins gets well over 1m+ usually, which is excellent ratings for E4 or any non-terrestrial channel.

The list posted only has one rating per series and not an average which distorts figures a lot. For example, Married, Single, Other, something I wouldnt call a comedy anyway, averaged 4m for its series and fell a lot after the 6.2m for its first show.

Original seasons one and two of skins were great. After that.. not great.

I watched the first series, I think.

Skins series 1 was brilliant

Series 2 was still very good, though lost a bit of it's freshness

Series 3 was difficult to take to with a mostly new cast

Series 4 I liked alot, though not a patch on Series 1&2

Not looking forward to the film or series 5&6

I cannot remember one person from series one of Skins... :/

Oh wait! The one from About A Boy. Phew.

Cassie
Chris
Tony
Maxxie
Michelle

cant remember the others now

Anyone know anywhere to get ratings of older shows?

I wouldnt mind seeing the ratings for 2point4 Children from 1991-1999.

Wikipedia states it got upto 13m and the last episode got 9m.

The last series got between 6 and 7m, which was mediocre at that time.

It was getting a good audience for its 8th series for a sitcom on BBC One in 1999.

The ratings for that series are still on BARB.

Really wanted to find out the rating for each episode compared to the other channels at the same time.

I've never trusted ratings anyway, they have a bizarre method of guestimating them, how on earth do they know how many people are watching each TV?

I don't like the way they do it either.

Basically each household (panel member) inputs how many people are in the room at any one time, then if someone leaves they tell the box that's fitted to the TV and so on.
