Radio Sitcoms

Hi all,

Does anyone have any produced radio sit coms they'd be prepared to share with me? Or maybe you could direct me to a site that has some?

I'm looking for contemporary stuff. No transcripts.

Many thanks,

David

Seriously, not one person knows where to find radio scripts?

How is it I can lay my hands on just about any Hollywood screenplay I fancy yet not be able to find one homegrown sitcom?

What exactly do you want?

Scripts of already existing radio shows or are you looking for someone to write a new one with?

Scripts of existing shows. For comparison purposes. League of Gentlemen, Mighty Boosh, anything and everything in the way of contemporary radio sitcom.

Who knew it was so hard to find radio scripts?

How is it I can locate just about any Hollywood screenplay you could care to mention but not one home grown radio play? What have other aspiring sit com writers done before me? It's hard to believe there's no online repository for this sort of thing.

Do you think maybe I should approach the beeb or Ch4 direct and ask for scripts?

They're copyrighted and you'd have to pay wouldn't you?

Sorry, only just read this. I know you can get a few from the scriptArchive at the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/insight/script_archive.shtml

Appreciate it, but the Writers Room is bereft of radio sitcom material. That's what I'm really interested in. I just want to be able to hold a produced show next to my spec script and compare.

Is it layout or quality comparisons you're after?

It's quality comparisons I'm interested in. Structure too.

Well, surely you don't have to compare quality? Just write it and concentrate on YOURS being good, not someone else's.

I have hunted high and low for the same thing and have not found any.

Yes, but what does "good" look like exactly? I'm betting there are characteristics common among the best produced sitcoms - characteristics I'd be keen to study.

Likewise, that's exactly why I wanted Radio Sitcom scripts.

It's like studying anything, part of study is looking at real expert examples of how it should be done.

The industry is keeping them from us because of fear and insularity!!! It's full of so-called industry experts who spend at least half their day shredding old scripts and diverting would be writers by giving them false information!!! You know I'm right! ;)

I am particularly interested in Mighty Boosh or LOG original radio scripts if anyone knows where I can find 'em! I have the recordings but I want to see how the scripts were laid out! :)

Hear, hear.
