I think Conspiracy wasn't quite the topic I wanted to discuss, I was thinking more Mystery & Unexplained stuff.
I shall look for such a thread back in the archives once I can think of a good example.
Conspiracy? Page 3
I think we have to ask ourselves what made you choose this one.
You mean like spontaneous human combustion ? That's one that's always baffled me.
Quote: DaButt @ August 22 2010, 2:27 AM BSTOnly if you're grasping at straws.
Isn't it true that nearly a third of Americans believe 9-11 to have been a government conspiracy? Mind you, I also read that 1 in 5 Americans believe Obama to be a Muslim, so...
Quick straw poll then...hands up who believe there was a lot more to 9-11 than we were told about in the media, and yes I'm talking about US government either aiding or allowing the events to happen to further their global agenda.
And hands up everyone who believes absolutely everything the media and the Bush administration fed us?
I may be alone, I may be not.

That 'uns been convincingly disproved a few times Nat. Look up the "Wick Effect" on Wiki and YouTube.

Not really as I can explain.
I was thinking of Aliens & UFOs and things like crop circles originally.
Which could come under conspiracy theories & do when you go on that sort of website.
But a conspiracy theory suggests that certain people know about it & are covering up the truth.
Which isn't necessarily the case regarding Aliens & UFOs etc.
I wanted to hear any stories about Historical Anomalies, theories about the orgins of man, strange creatures, anything unbelievable & mysterious that doesn't have to go under the banner of Conspiracy thory.

Isn't it true that a majority of Brits like to think this of Americans, yet 98% of them can't point to any data backing it up?

I live on an estate very close to miles of fields and twice in the last five years I've come more-or-less face-to-face with a huge black cat whilst out walking my dog after dark. When I say huge, I mean bigger than my dog, who's a hefty labrador retriever. The second time I saw it was about three months ago near a converted windmill close to my house. It was 15 feet away from me and it froze when I saw it. Then it jumped over the mill's fence with a single bound and disappeared into some bushes. Perhaps it was the smell of my shitted pants.
Seriously though, it's huge. Like a panther or something. And I'm not the only person to have seen it.

Yes but it's the 2% that make all the difference Badge.
I would love to see one of them!
Well, would also poo myself, naturally.
Quote: Griff @ August 22 2010, 11:54 PM BSTI'll go with "none of the above".
So you're somewhere inbetween?
A few stats for Badge

I'm thinking of bringing out a herbal laxative called "SubUrban Panther"

Quote: Griff @ August 23 2010, 12:03 AM BSTI went walking in Wiltshire earlier this year and by the side of one field an enterprising farmer had left a cash box with the sign "Walk through genuine crop circle THIS WAY - five pounds only".
I don't believe the US Government were complicit in 9/11 but that doesn't mean "I believe absolutely everything I am fed by the media". For example I'm still unsure about the Cheryl Cole / Derek Hough story.
So if you're unsure of the truth behind a lightweight story like Cheryl and Derek, imagine the bullshit behind a story like 9-11.
I suspect that if the US had planned 9/11 they would have found a more convincing means of implicating Iraq.
Jaw-dropping incompetence on the part of the US intelligence services is not evidence of complicity.
What is the Cheryl Cole story?...
Quote: zooo @ August 23 2010, 12:11 AM BSTWhat is the Cheryl Cole story?...
She assassainted JFK then planned 9-11, then pretended to collapse from Malaria when really she was trying to hide her face that was shapeshifting into a Reptilian alien.
I always knew it!!
Bloody northerners!

It'll all come out in the trial. "Why aye man, I was like, sittin' on this grassy knoll and me f**kin' gun went off like."
