Nice goal, Scholes.

Nice equaliser.
There's been some nice football so far from both teams. I think Utd will nick a winner. Some substitutions are needed.
Bollocks.
Just as I was cursing Hangeland being in my fantasy team...
Scholes or Gerrard - who is better?
Who would you rather have in your team?

Stevie G, all day long.

How many championships has we won? Nine, isn't it? Oh wait...
They're both very good.
Scholes is probably a bit more underrrated.
Out of the two I'll go for Lampard.

David May has won more than Alan Shearer. It doesn't mean he's a better footballer.

That's a fairer match-up, but the G-man just edges it. (12 pages )

Is this your way of saying that Karel Poborsky is NOT better than Stan Bowles?!
Anyway, Gerrard only appears to shine more because he's too caught up in staying in a mediocre Liverpool team due to scouse honour.
I started this discussion because a Manc fan I know said it was Scholes all day long. While I'm a Liverpool fan I would like to think that I'm open minded enough to give credit when it's due. I have had to finally accept that Sir Alex is the best manager the country has ever had even though he's still technically behind on European Cups. The difference is is that he has had long term international success in different countries when Shankly and Paisley do not.
Anyway back to Scholes and Gerrard...
By my reckoning Gerrard has 133 career goals in 534 matches (1 goal in 4.015 games) compared to Scholesy who has 150 in 646 (1 goal in 4.307 games). Both have pretty similar international records as it happens with Stevie G with 19 in 85 caps and Scholes with 14 in 66 but overall I think Gerrard has the edge...but then I would say that wouldn't I.
At the end of the day (I'm over the moon, Brian) Gerrard has scored only 17 fewer goals and he's five years younger than Scholes and that was with a team that hasn't won all that much compared to the 'might' of United.
Gerrard > Scholes - end of argument! lol
Some entertaining stuff this weekend.
But yet again commentators and pundits are talking balls. The Stoke "goal" against Spurs appears to have gained legendary status, and was, depending on who you listen to, "definitely", "probably", "almost certainly" or "110%" over the line.
I've watched the telly coverage, and they've presumably frozen it at the point where it looks "most over the line". Even with that freeze frame I couldn't say all the ball is over the line. In which case, if I was a TV umpire and we had a referall system, I would say "no goal".
My worry is that people watching the same coverage think they see different things. Commentators and pundits often say things that aren't true, even as the video replay is being shown that completely contradicts them. Do we want big decisions to be guided by idiots who can't even watch TV properly?

Is the correct answer.
Can I also thank Andy Carroll for single handedly rescuing my Fantasy Football campaign after I forgot to make the changes I wanted to this week.
