Yes, R&M would be shown up by someone like David Mitchell appearing on the show.

Rolling eyes

Of course they would. I dunno . . .

They're so absurdly different in style and intent that to try and compare or say one would show the other up is pointless.

It's not the point of the show though is it?
That's why Jack Dee has been such a great captain, he knows his role & it ain't being the star or cracking jokes.

Preeeecisely.

I love David Mitchell he's really witty and funny.
But Vic and Bob are in their own little non-cynical, magical bubble. And should be left alone there to do their thing.

Yep!

I don't think they like comedians being on the show.

JACK DEE!

JACK DEE!

He doesn't do much though? He lets them get on with it.

My favourite part is always the final challenge. Which challenges are your favourites, and if possible, do you remember which series/episode they were from?

There's no way I'm going to remember which episodes they were in, unfortunately. But I love the ones where they drop increasingly heavy things on people's heads. Or swing increasingly big things at people. I seem to remember them swinging a massive bear at Mark Lamaar, knocking him flying. It was rather amusing.

And there was a great one where someone was hung on a rope, wearing extremely pointy toed shoes and had to knock things off little shelves with them.

From the older series I remember the one where Paul Whitehouse had to pour drinks behind a bar whilst his arms were on ropes being pulled about!

Face Pain was also good with Jack getting slapped in the face with bacon Laughing out loud
also when Angelos had to balance a dead bird on his head at the end of s6!

That was brilliant. I do love the challenges.

^ Coincidently that episode with Paul Whitehouse was on Saturday night on Virgin for those who have Sky (they've been showing them every Saturday but unfortunately cutting almost 10 mins from each episode!), Larry Hagman was also on it. I think it's my favourite episode ever.

I remember Hagman being on it, but can't remember Whitehouse. Will have to look that up.

They wouldn't be 'shown up', (shown up as what? Don't be a numpty) but I don't think his style of humour/personality would match the show at all.

Wooooo! Domestic!

Love this show too. Have to see if the last episode is still on Catch Up - or whatever.

I like Jack Dee and have just spent 7.99 on what was described as his autobiography. I am 100 pages in and it is just a series of miserable rants on various subjects with no information about him really at all. Anyone else read this and can give me hope that it will get better?

I read a very funny extract where he was having a go at the woman who books the comics at Hackney Empire.

Cheers Griff, I'll look forward to that.

I was fortunate enough to witness a real life "Club Singer" when I was in Melbourne (Australia) last weekend. I'm sure Vic would be proud, I've uploaded it to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TWRsLZriLU

Guess the song?
