Whatever happened to this?
Obviously it won't go any further with Wendy Richard no longer alive but is the pilot ever going to be shown?

No. I doubt it was produced with the intention of being shown - although may very well have turned into E1 of a series. A real pity that it wasn't commissioned IMO.
It sounds as though it could have been quite a fun one to watch as long as it was done well. The premise different and original at least.
It could still work with Wendy Richard's part recast. Maybe Barbara Windsor now she's left EastEnders. Perhaps not.
It might work well with someone like Zoe Wanamaker or even Belinda Lang (had to get a 2.4 reference in somewhere).

I don't care how many inches your penis is.

Believe me, you're way way way off there.
I'm just glad I've avoided what I expected. Given the title of this thread I thought a few gay jokes might be coming my way. Ah well.
Have you seen the trailer of it on YouTube?
It looks awful and quite frankly I'm glad it has never aired as it would put a huge stain on a lot of comedy greats' careers.
"Here Comes The Queen" was made for the the large part of the market which enjoys broad 'Gang Show' comedy. Unfortunatley the Broadcasters don't want this these days, even though shows like "My Family" draw huge figures (and get ignored at the Comedy Awards).
"Queen" was a lot of fun to make and I'm proud of what was acheived on a limited budget - with a fab cast. I should know, I directed it.
Ooh!!
I like the way you zinged that in, at the end.

Any link to it? Hasn't come up so far.
I think David asked for it to be taken down after Wendy died.

Nah, you should be alright. Although several of us do seem to have an eye on your awesome chair...
(I made my own director's chair when I was 12. It was all very sad.)

I've just seen "The Chair" looking all forlorn in my garage - now that is very sad.
