Congratulations, Jack!
What, even if you don't turn up? I didn't turn up for my uni exams, just couldn't be bothered come the day, never did find out what grade they gave me but I don't give a sh*t, uni's for punies, peoples, I don't regret a single day of leaving that pointless crap behind, but I do sometimes have a yearning for a pot noodle.

So by your logic, you still got all As then?

Disagree. University's great. The last time you have little or no responsibility or pressure. Doing nothing, not cutting your hair for three years, getting drunk every day, watching daytime TV endlessly, banging out shitty 2:2 essays in an afternoon, hanging around with loads of hot foreign girls. Jack's in for a great time.
I probably would have done if I could've have taken the whole thing seriously enough. Alas I just couldn't. Grade As that is. At the very least.

You chose to devote your life to the noble cause of sitcom writing. How's that working out for you, Kipper?

Well, luckily you didn't try, and risk proving that idea wrong.
Might be nice not to put down those who were brave enough to try though...

I think if you don't turn up you get a U?
And then it's A*-E. But don't quote me on that...
It is indeed a noble cause, or was until quite recently. I intend to help reinstall some integrity to the sullied genre, though.
How's it going for me? Things are looking rosier, I have a meeting to discuss my ms. with someone from the BBC lined up. I will be wearing a tight black leather jumpsuit and a false, Shylock style nose. I'm hoping for the best.

Then you get a U. In your case, I suspect the monks merely said some penance for your sins.
Congratulations to Jack. Now starts a hectic few weeks of packing, sorting out accommodation, checking you've got everything you need, and waiting for book lists...
It's like Harry Potter.
I LOVE getting the book list. Favorite part of uni. [/sad]
Universities are an expensive con that have helped cripple our economy, completely deluded half our population about their role in life, emaciated our indigenous workforce and are used by the Gvt. merely to take millions off the official unemployed figures. Turn them into flats, you will create housing, jobs and stimulate the economy. Simple dimples. And I didn't need to read Marx or Keynes!
It's certainly true that the previous Labour Government(s) abused and devalued the further education system.
Lots of people read to further themselves without spending a penny on a university education. All you need is a library card.
Some people just aren't interested in learning, but there's no need to be bitter against the whole of the university system.
