Article in The Daily Mail taken from book published to coincide with the end of the series:
Last of Summer Wine to end? Page 5
A fascinating read. Thanks for posting the link.
Nice article. I hope I get to see more of these someday.
Good article. I loved the show when I was a kid, so must go back and revist those series'.
Dont know about anyone else but think I will buy that book, that article whetted my appetite
Why is Howard homeless? Has Pearl found out about Marina?
Yes, she has; albeit not until after Marina dumped him!

Pearl has always known about Marina, she's just sick of Howard straying probably
Just caught up with last week and this.
Quite enjoyed them. Brian Murphy should've joined much sooner.
Good article there. I read about the Bill Owen- Michael Bates argument in a previous history of the sitcom book. Bates was born in India, so it is little surprise that he would strong Emperialistic views. Likewise there was trouble with Brian Wilde and sources claim that he was going to replaced by his 'Porridge' co-star Fulton Mackay where he would play Compo and Clegg's Scottish friend Scotty, yet Mackay's death from stomach cancer brought an end to that.

Never knew that, could have been interesting, could have changed the history of the show, as there would have been no need for Wilde to return in 1990
What do poeple on here think is the best catchphrase in the show? I have soft spot for Ivy's 'What the blood and stomach pills' or Edie talking to Glenda and starting a sentence 'You weren't brought up to...'
I note that just so people realise that it is the last episode, the Beeb have retitled the last episode 'The Very Last of the Summer Wine', and have bumped the broadcast time up to 8pm.
As I've missed this last series, by and large, why has Pearl kicked Howard out, and isn't this the first story-arc of the series? Final series tend to have these.
You've already asked that. Scroll up.
