I've never heard of a quango before! Learn something new every day.

You've never heard of a quango?

They're those bloody awful wastes of taxpayers money that are no good to anyone except those employed by them.

(Sorry Nat. I seem to be getting at you every way! nothing personal!!!)

My classes at school were called IT.

My classes were called using an Abacus.

I work for one of the few good, value for money quangos! We do good things! Also, we're safe- the coalition sited us as one they were supporting.

Cited. Ahem.

I think we had one or two computers at school, but no lessons in that sort of thing.

I did have a ZX Spectrum though & was quite the Whiz at programming.

I also like the implied sense of undesirability in "Computer Awareness" that makes it sound like a lecture on drugs or stranger danger.

That class was so moronic!

The first 2 days were spent on labeling the parts of a computer. And we couldn't move on until everyone in the class had every part memorized. The lady next to me couldn't tell the difference between the 3 1/2" and 5 1/4" drives.
