I am going to frame that and hang it above my monitor - just for when I need reminding not to be a tit.

But 'someone' isn't enough, Chipolata, I assume the commissioning process is quite thorough and executives aren't spared when deciding on the chosen ones. Several top bods must have liked it/wanted it in for personal reasons and argued for its commissioning in place of others on the short list. It's this which worries me because would you be so drawn to that script if it was sent in unsolicited by an unknown? I know I wouldn't look twice at it before feeding it through the office shredder.
I cannot personally believe that Amstell's name being on it was not integral to the decision that was made. Some may think this is okay, but I do not, I believe that quality matters above all else and I cannot see how professionals would think this was a good script if sent in by me or you!

Presumably they compared it against scripts submitted by the likes of yourself, Alfred.
Humphhh Can't have been! Let me see, did I send in anything in the seocond half of last year...No, it turns out I didn't, so there we are! My March sent ms. would have long since been shredded by the time Amstell's masterpiece was being looked over.

I don't rate it. I think it's poor, an my hunch is that it won't get a very big audience and won't get a second series. However some people on this thread do apparently like it, so I assume if they were in top jobs and had seen this script they may have given it the greenlight. The point is, comedy is very subjective. One man's meat is another man's poison, etc etc.

Blimey, poor you, if that was me I'd have needed a psychiatrist to get me through the rest of the year, at least. Those BBC busterds (how did Tarantino spell it?) They make me steam!

It was about a year ago that the series was commissioned, IIRC.
