Star Trek

Although the Next Generation was probably the best series of the franchise I still prefer the original series despite it's budgetary constraints.
I enjoyed Deep Space nine & Voyager but never really got into Enterprise even though it had a Power ballad as a theme tune.

The Movies have been of varying quality but the new Reboot with Chris Pine was excellent.
I'd love to see a TV series with the new cast, but that would never happen due to who owns which rights.
As long as they do a couple more movies with the new crew I'll be happy.

No one messes with the Gorn. :D

Arena
That's a Kirktastic episode

I wonder who got to pick the opening sons for the last few Trek series? Because whoever it was should have their face stamped on for the next twenty years. Idiot.

I personally never took to any Trek series after the Next Generation. The last film was good.

Original and Next Generation were obviously best, but I quite like Voyager. And the reboot was great. JJ Abrams is a genius.

I think the first series is a class above any of the others I've been aware of.
Episodes such as "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" are truly stirring, with such a brave story and such memorable characters.

Next generation was best. Jean Luc Picard > James Tiberius Kirk. Fact.

Because I'm from Newcastle, or due to my overt love of men in visors ?

A little bit from column A....

Agree with Griff about the next Gen being a bit earnest.
And the first few series were a bit meh a lot of the time.
But from three or four onwards they really hit their stride.

And the Finale was outstanding

Next Gen was very much a product of its time, the inclusion of a counsellor particularly dates it. But they had some stunning episodes, and the Borg is one of the great sci fi monsters.

I like TNG and some of the films. That's about it.

I never worked out how the Away Team could simply beam aboard a Borg ship and be ignored. The explanations offered were a bunch of Tribble Shit.

They were great. A bit similar to the Cybermen, but used in a much better, creepier manner.
