Sherlock Page 23

I just watched Columbo and if you think Sherlock has to date been a patch on it.

Then you sir are a philistine.

I wasn't referring to the quality of the other shows, just your continued insistance on posting disparaging comments on this thread. It's an illness with no cure.

I'd forgotten this was on tonight. Will give it another chance as episode 1 was more fun than a pair of Bristols. Well, almost.

Geez that's your definition of mental illness? It's barely an eccentricity.

Defending shows with fury that'll get produced what ever either of us say.

Shades of some kind of grand mal egotisim.

That almost makes sense if you read it the way it was apparently supposed to read.

Oh, and don't be a tool, is my reply.

And I'm not some mad fan of the show, last week's was a bit dull, I just don't understand your desperate need to continuously point out how much you dislike it or your inability to accept that others might. I'll watch this week's, if it's like last episode, I may not rush to tune into the next series.

I do sometimes wonder if you'd be happier as a Jehovis Witness.

I myself am an evangelist for the golden age of TV detectives.

Have you heard the truth about The Rockford Files?

Like, whatever Dude.

Is that the nihilist sequel to "Dude where's my car?"

Even the great TV detectives don't always start great. Takes time to hit their stride. And even with last week's limp offering this has still been the best Brit Dick show for a while. What's better? Linley? George Gently?

Don't confuse him with facts and logic.

That was the little seen 'Dude, Where's My Balls?' The rib tickling tale of dope and testicular cancer.

I always felt Nick Clegg was well cast in that.

That episode was rather good.

Albeit what's up with Moriarty's voice?

The best episode of this short run there from Gatiss; completely superior to last week's sedentary adventure.

Well that was exciting. Moriarty did sound like Graham Norton though, which was distracting.

Gah! A rubbish Moriarty to spoil an otherwise very fine episode. Gatiss and Moffat clearly need to write them all . . .

Well it was really good and well structured. Lots of mini mysteries solved with deduction and cleverness, a big monster hit man, humour and a big meta mystery plot that made sense.
And Moriarty was pleasing weird and evil.

Albeit they may have written themselves into a bit of a corner. I mean the villain who is a ruthless killer vs the hero who isn't.

Hello Slippery long time no see!

I liked Moriarty. It was like he was so used to being someone else he'd lost his personalityy/identity. So his voice and gestures were liked a badly tuned radio.
