Do you GROW? Page 16

Mine are all still green, but loads are starting to come through.

I've been getting about 3 to 6 ripe tomatoes a day for over a week or so now.

And according to Chas from Chas 'n' Dave my carrots are rubbish because I haven't been ruthlessly thinning them out.

I've harvested several hundred tomatoes over the last 3 months. Now they're in the typical dormant stage where it's too hot (close to 100F most days) to produce fruit. Another round of fruit should begin forming in late September.

One day, I'll get a little herb garden. Then, I can invite Leevil round and we'll munch upon a parsley sandwich.

Is he your gardening guru?

Is it in the song? You've got more rabbit than Sainsbury's because your carrots are close together and that attracts them.

Something weird's happened to my chili plant.
The leaves are all sticky and covered with little dots of... stuff. Dots that rub off, not dots in the actual leaf.

What is ittttt?

Are they little white dots, zooo? If so, it's a pest and not worth rescuing the plant.

Yeah whiteish. You mean as in alive little insect things?

More like a growth. I had a basil plant a couple of summers ago and got a similar thing.

Gross.

It had better not infect my other plants while I'm away for the weekend.

Oh really? Well, if you're away, then I may end up infecting your plants. And believe me, I'll be leaving more white marks on them.

My tomato plant is well sexy. I can't blame you.

I think Botanist Ben is much more sophisticated than Plant Buggering Ben, don't you think?

It's probably the way to go.
