You forgot 'contempt for the audience'.

(The broader audience in the real world, that is, not the audience who follow him on Twitter and go to all the live recordings. He could have cast a joke-shop dog poo as Douglas' wife and they would have screamed with laughter)

Did anyone get the 'multi-coloured jacket' joke? It was quite obscure.

Not true!

I've already said that I like Father Ted and that one episode of The IT Crowd was superb.

But this 4th series has been drivel from start to finish.

It's been patchy, and at times woefully poor, but there has been some good stuff as well. Most notably the bomb episode, which I felt was pretty good.

Quite the opposite. I wish he would get into bed with another bloke. A big forceful bloke who would take him properly in hand.

But, if the reports of how the next series of the IT Crowd will be written are true, it looks like we might be getting 'soggy biscuit' next year.

I prefer to think of him as a beaten wife, forever lamenting his lot but coming back for a fresh punching every week.

Current? Hmmmm......

Tricky one, that. In an ideal world I'd be raving about The IT Crowd and Mitchell and Webb but this seems to be the year that both shows have hit the buffers.

Not that surprising in the latter case, as they spread themselves so thin.

(I also think the Thick of It went downhill when Langham left...)

Still, with D. Kitson and S. Lee at least we are living in a golden age of stand-up comedy.

We just have to pass a law forcing Linehan to work with somebody and everything will be alright.
