The IT Crowd 4.0 Page 30

Female Bones reminded me of a certain cutie putie.

Well in my opinion that episode was a right damp squid!!

Just a few funny bits. I liked the Star Trek bit, and Moss getting out of the witness box, but the rest was poor with obvious dialogue with no spark in it.

>_< :S Sick

Linehan has basically given up on the traditional sitcom structure, he just strings gags together. But the gags are good enough to keep me watching.

I thought that was a fantastic episode, really enjoyed it from start to finish! You're all wrong wrong wrong - I think you're all just too depressed to recognise good comedy when it comes along. I'll be sending out some theraputic Jim Davidson DVDz.

I think that Linehan going solo highlights what he contributed and was responsible for in the writing of 'Father Ted' and what Arthur Mathews was responsible for. Judging from the 4 series of 'The IT Crowd', it seems that it was Linhan who came up with the surreal visual jokes and Mathews who came up with the more verbal jokes and possibly the storyline for each episode. I just don't think story is Linehan's greatest strength when he is writing his own sitcom by himself and that in turn can affect some of the verbal jokes resulting in patchy, hit and miss episodes.

The same could possibly be said for Mathews and 'Hippies' and the second series of 'Big Train'.

It's like when Jim Abrahams split apart from the Zucker brothers and made the 2 'Hot Shots!' films with 'Naked Gun' trilogy co-writer Pat Proft - there were loads of crazy visual jokes happening in the background of scenes in those 'Hot Shots!' films - lots more than in 'Airplane!' and the 'Naked Gun' trilogy - but not as much effort and concentration on the humour in the dialogue which may have been what the Zucker brothers specialised and majored in.

I felt cheated when the "Richmond in the witness box" story line just fizzled out. There has to have been a lot better that could have been done with that lead-in.

Whom?

The rather extraordinary acting style put me in mind of our own Suzie Cocktail. Could be wrong.

Ahh, yes you're right, she was an incredibly bad actor now you mention it.

The first half was a bit iffy but I thought the second half was hilarious, even Roy saying the "he kissed me on my bottom" line again had me laughing. Very random but still very funny. Good to see Noel Fielding/Richmond again.

The two actresses (the blonde one at the start and the one playing the wife of Douglas) were VERY easy on the eye! Cool

I wonder if there were scheduling conflicts whilst filming, because it seems bizarre that Roy and Moss appeared so briefly. They were almost cameos. In fact, the whole series has felt a bit like the cast phoned in their performances, before jetting back to pursue the rest of their careers.

I really enjoyed the last episode, barring the Noel Fielding segment. Unnecessary, not funny, and just a cheap ploy topull in the Boosh fangirls.
