Screenplay Credits Scene

No doubt we have had this somewhere but can't find it.

When writing a screenplay and we have the opening credits. How do you layout the scene?

SCENE TWO : EXT. DAY. SUPERMARKET CARPARK.

CREDITS ROLL

Then write the scene that will play while the credits roll.

Then if we then follow the action into the supermarket is that still Scene Three even if the credits are still running?

I'm not sure people generally write scenes including the credits appearing over the top of action like that. I suppose if you want to do that, you could just put something like 'Opening Credits Appear Over:' and just write the scene. But really, why are you including that in the actual script?

Doesn't sound necessary to me.

Rule of thumb change of scene equals change of scene, I know sounds obvious, and in screenplays the scenes aren't usually numbered.

Or... as a writer you write what actually appears on screen - which is what screenwriters do. Including the beginning strangely enough ;)

A winky eye does not absolve you for the tone of that post I'm afraid. It almost reads like you're rolling your eyes before patting me on the head.

It could have been worse.

Okay.

The idea is to "set the scene" as it were with a bloke walking round a supermarket as the credits roll over the top, no dialogue in it.

Big F another tip. In Screenplays you don't have to have dialogue. :) Don't hit me when I meet you :)

True.

But this one does. But not that bit. Anyway its a work in progress. :)

Hey, really funny laugh Marc, they want me to do a book signing. I said okay and made sure there would be lots of shelves to tidy when no one turns up.

Then at the top of the scene they would first appear in, just put something like 'OPENING CREDITS APPEAR OVER'

Then, at the end of the scene you want them to stop, put 'END OPENING CREDITS'.

Should be fine.

Joking apart pick my brains anytime re the screenplay layout stuff, and book signing wise take friends. I have one in October but have never done one before and didn't want to do this one!

They want to turn into an "event" local press, local radio etc. Apart from the fact that four people will turn up, I'm crap at spelling names.I'll go through half the books before I get their name correct.

Where is yours?

Where is yours?

You know exactly where I live, that is just a mean question. :(
