Maybe not 'all' then ;)

And I meant from the point-of-view of industry contacts and working with someone in the know, rather than specifically for 'that' sitcom. And my point is that the script editors need to *be* script editors and not just 'people who fancy editing a script'.

Why not have us submit an entire first series, plus extras for the DVD? Then if we get past the first round we have to do a second series? Then for the third round, a ninety minute special to round it all off.

Yeah - as if James Cotter hasn't got enough of an advantage anyway!

It'll just be Cotter versus Mikey Jackson in the finals.

Can they do it in their pants?

That's quite an image.

Mikey will play the trump card though as he will have the Novel written too!
I want these guy's work ethics! :(

Yeah, and they probably want your publishing deals!

They should do three episodes in 15 minutes, in pants and top hats.

Yes. I wish I hadn't done it now.

Which is what's happened with Sitcom (Com) Mission.

If you watch a sitcom and then a week later watch the same episode, it wouldn't be as funny as 'you' have seen/heard all the humour.
What about this as an idea. Submit one entry then if shortlisted send a second.
The winner of a heat [with his/her first entry] then has his/her second one rehearsed then performed at the following heat, so that the directors are watching two different episodes.

How about the first heat is we send an example of our work and a proposal for a 15 minute sitcom, and a few ideas for other episodes. Then, if selected, we write one episode.

That way, the organisers can see how good we are at writing from our samples, then gauge how good we are at writing scripts. Everybody's happy and we, the writers, haven't slogged our guts out for little or nothing.

I think that maybe too much for Simon/Declan, they have to read each entry; and after reading the samples, they'd then have to read the 15 min entries.
To me the most difficult part of any writing is thinking up storylines for each ep

Okay, narrow the entrance requirements so only people who've had work put on professionally can enter.
