Tickets booked, thanks! :)

Shame I can't go. Still, with you going Aaron, we'll be able to get the news of the meeting on the website.

Its a school night :( ALWAYS a school night!

As far as I'm aware, nothing has been confirmed as yet. Going on past form though, I think it entirely possible.

I'm so annoyed- I left it too late to book tickets! :( Have a great time, those of you who are going though!

Just got back. Very interesting evening, and a good insight into the process of writing the show. And sounds like there may very well be a spinoff in the works...

Some other things we learnt:

  • Pretty much every character is named after someone the writer(s) know/knew, e.g. Lyndon Jones was the "cocky sod" IT guy at Talkback when Victoria Pile first joined, and Maurie (sp?) Todd is the name of her doctor.
  • Julian "Jules" Rhind-Tutt is a better kisser than Stephen Mangan. Apparently.
  • Doon Mackichan was in the pilot (presumably as the Caroline character).
  • Filming is relatively close to the script, but the script is loose and continuously re-written throughout rehersal stages.
  • Mac's first name may very well be Paul. (Think about it.)
  • Alan Statham IS Mark Heap. And vice versa.
  • There are some very, VERY good outtakes. I vote we petition for a Deleted Scenes DVD.

I can set a petition up if you like.

No need to setup a petition Ian - I am lead to believe that a bonus DVD will be produced at some point to accompany the S1, S2 and Special DVDs to produce a 'Complete Green Wing' boxset. No doubt the extra footage they have (and we know they have all kinds of things - such as video of the convention and signing sessions) will be put on there.

I will shortly be editing together the various accounts I've been sent of the BFI event, signing session and convention to put out in another GW newsletter. I'm a bit busy over the next couple of days but expect I'll be able to email it either Sunday/Monday so watch out for that!

Ah good news there. I wonder how complete it will be though? Victoria Pile seemed to suggest that there was an obscene amount of gold which they had had to remove for one reason or another. I'm sure there'd be the market for all of it, rather than the single 'bonus' disc which would likely be the outcome of such a set.

i bought them all seperate along with many other people. If someone bought the dvd boxset would it be possible for that someone to put them all on youtube?

  • I'm sorry, but I flatly refuse to believe it.

  • That really annoyed me about the first dvd. (I don't have the second yet) I always thought there must be squillions of great outtakes.

there should be squillions! there obviously would have been-there are on any show

Yup. And theirs woud be especially funny due to all the uber-talented comedians in the cast.

ah of course! I think that maybe there were just too many-or they were just too embarassing!
