Why?

He hates Stewart Lee as much as he hates the French. For example.

Why?

Well, let me just say he's not Stewart Lee's biggest fan.

One of my favourite sitcoms which is very overlooked is Nightingales. Two best episodes have to be Scrutiny on the Bounty and the last episode Someone to Watch Over Me. One of the surrealist ends to a sitcom.

So many to chose from. Probably go for Dad's Army- Operation Kilt, but also special mentions to The Wisdom of the Witch (One Foot in the Grave) and Friday the Fourteenth (Only Fools and Horses).

Friday the 14th is a great Only Fools and Horses episode, so many great lines.

Always near the top of my list is Porridge: A Night In. Essentially a two-hander between Fletch and Godber locked in their cell. A great example of how you don't need a mob of wacky characters and crazy situations to be funny, all you need is great writing and brilliant performers.

Also, I recently re-watched Frasier: They're Playing our Song. The one where Frasier has to write a jingle for his radio show. A superb example of an excellent show.

To Kill A Mocking Alan from I'm Alan Partridge. The one with Alan's biggest fan.

Another favourite of mine is 'The Puffy Shirt', from 'Seinfeld'.

Good choice. Has my favourite bit of dialogue from anything in it:

"There's no way, you big spastic! You're a mentalist!".

Of American shows, I'd go for Arrested Development and the episode Ready, Aim, Marry Me! Martin Short was sublime in it. Weirdly , according to the DVD comentary a lot of Arrested fans don't like it.

I'll go with Hancock's The Poetry Society for greatest Radio episode.

'Straw in the wind, straw in the wind.'

:) I <3 that episode. I think I could properly recite the whole episode without the need of a script book.

Steptoe and Son - Oh What a Beautiful Mourning. "Another bleeding funeral!" Harold Steptoe.
Red Dwarf-Gunman of the Apocalypse, though there are quite a lot of good ones.
Blackadder the Third-Sense and Senility (the actor episode) for having Hugh Paddick and Kenneth Connor in it.

Red Dwarf - Gunman of the Apocalypse.

Blackadder the Third - Sense and Senility for having Hugh Paddick and Kenneth Connor in it.

Couldn't agree more with those two choices.

Another classic episode is "Dinner Party", from season 4 of the American Office. It's the one where Michael throws the dinner party from hell, and the fued between him and Jan escalates to breaking point. Brilliant stuff.

The Psychiatrist for me from FT, cannot really be bettered imo. I won't give an analysis of how the episode works this time, it may upset someone. Morning Wave
