My ex-girlfriend just told me that her current boyfriend (himself an ex-boyfriend from 15 years ago who is currently stationed in Iraq) broke up with her because I had the audacity to drive 300 miles to rescue her and her 3 dogs after her car broke down in triple-digit temperatures 200 miles from her home. I guess the thought of us spending the night in a hotel room (in separate beds, of course) was too much for him to bear.

He's been suspicious about me since they started dating again. There's nothing complicated about us: we were friends for 12 years, dated for 2 and now we're just friends again. We get along very well and her boyfriend would rather she didn't have any male friends. She's a little too independent to allow someone to tell her who she can have as friends.
