I know what irony is - it's like goldy and bronzey only it's made of iron.

Another dreary Jeremy Hardy last night. Although the line about dub poets was good, mainly because I had the misfortune to work with some last year and they were awful.

Huh? Have you been hosting your own variety nights?

I can't say anything else until my book comes out, Will There Ever Be Another Chipolata? Hopefully bigfella will put in a good word for me at the Daily Mail and get it serialised.

I'd buy that. Perhaps I could proof read it for you?

The only man I'd trust with my wordage is Marc P.

Oh, fine. Well I'll just bloomin' sod off then! Eh? I guess that's what I'll go and do!
I enjoyed the Michael Gove impression on The Now Show, portraying him as a psychotic puppet on Anthony Hopkins knee. I suspect it will run and run.

Ohh... sounds good. I will download the podcast now!
As for the other radio comedy...
The Castle: Good to have it back with its not-very-subtle sub-text.
I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue: I'll say it again. I'm bored of it now. I was listening to a classic episode on Radio 7 the other week, recorded before I was born. It was funnier.
Jeremy Hardy: Yeah, I'd agree, a bit dreary at times.
The Secret World: As already documented, I love it. The way they're slowly turning their version of Alan Titchmarsh into one of the most evil men in TV is very amusing.
Swots (on Radio Scotland): I've not caught up listening to this, but if it's anything like the first series it's more like being in a school lesson than listening to a comedy show.
No, the Now Show is absolutely awful. Sounds like some student rag week rejects. Participants are smug and unfunny.
Mark- Please don't listen to any comedy from BBC Scotland- it is all hugely embarrassing.

Wouldn't go quite that far - but it's certainly experiencing a bit of quality slippage - topicality slippage too.
I had thought it might just be because the regulars were away so often - but turns out that's not it.

Still makes me chuckle. Did you listen to some of the ones earlier in this series when it wasn't the normal line-up? It brought a new freshness to the show. John Finnemore impressed me as stand-in host, and Abandoman delivered some fresh songs.

I've heard some of their comedy documentaries & interview shows, they do them quite well!
Not much to say concerning Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation, although I did like his story about the Jewish taxi driver.

Yes, nice story. He's not bad in small doses. It's just half an hour seems an awfully long time to spend in his company.
The new series of The Ladies was an interesting listen - for starters there is no studio audience for this series. I liked the Christians and the lonley woman with the baby doll.
