Taking a stab at video comedy...

Hi all- I posted a link to this in introductions but now I see that there is actually a section of the forum for our work.
For the past few month me and some friends have been filming some comedy sketches- mostly a throwback to the old silent comedies (as in they have no dialogue...not that they are all black and white and star either laurel and Hardy or Charlie Chaplin). Would be grand to get some feedback from you comedy loving folks as we are about to do a feature mock-umentry and your feedback helps us know what is and isn't working...also you smell nice, and you look like you could give me a ride home. Where do I live? Oh not far from you, just keep going up the M25...Thanks.

http://vimeo.com/13363059 - The Torpedo.

Much obliged y'all

Enjoyed Spotted and Torpedo. Nice to see some stuff on here with a bit of ambition, well done.

The Search For Jesus - Was quite funny I'd of preferred a more absurdness in location. Like under a rock or in a car exhaust. But was quite good mate

The microscope one just needed the one close up of the fifty pee piece I feel. End on the gag. :) Good stuff mind.

True, and if you lop off the end you won't need to slow down that tune you got from iMovie :)

Thanks all for the comments!

The Search for Jesus is the first of many- the locations get stranger. For example the second one he is up high in a tree as we pan past him saying "No". Theres also one in the natural history museum looking at fossils through a microscope (to subtle?)

Microscope- Yeah I agree I'm going with the "teach your granny how to laugh" approach with that one but I showed it a few times with just one cut to the 20p and some people didn't get it. You lot clearly are a tad smarter than my focus group!

Theres some more stuff on there in the quiteenjoy films group so feel free to have a gander. Also I'll be filming a mockumentry with a pal of mine (the one from microscope actually) on the first comic strip film - 5 go mad in Dorset. Love to hear what you think of that one to so I'll keep the board updated about that one!

What? it wasn't disguised enough? Alright next time I'm going to lay thrash-metal on top of it and see if you can spot it! :D

It's good to have friends, but you have to realise that some of them may be idiots. I wouldn't set their grasp on things as your benchmark for your comedy. :D

Yo Brown.

I liked the 'Search for Jesus' and can see how you'll build it. I agree with Marc about the 1 shot on 50p (or the money shot...) and loved Torpedo. I read the title but was still unexpected - though that may say something about me.

Nice one though - good work, and ambitious (to echo Mr. Bussell).

These look great. I thought the Search for Jesus was the weakest, but if it is a runner it might build.

Hmm, not bad at all; especially enjoyed the Microscope one.

Very nice, they look good and are funny

Thanks for continued comments guys- if anyone has a vimeo account please feel free to add me as a contact. I'll keep this board updated with any new stuff as it comes
