"It is no use telling me there are bad aunts and good aunts. At the core, they are all alike. Sooner or later, out pops the cloven hoof."

I've found that a lot of women treat their 'about me' section like a CV, except that instead of fighting to get a job, they are fighting for a relationship. They write about how wonderful they are, what interesting pastimes they partake in and just how damned great they would be for the 'job'. And just like in a CV, the truth tends to fall far short of this. Especially with photos.

However, there are some other women who do the opposite, and present themselves as less interesting and attractive than they really are, so you never know what to expect. For example, my current gorgeous girlfriend, who I met on one of these sites, used a blurry photo, of her face only, and the colour balance was all wrong, making her look green.

The only thing you can do is just go for it and see what happens. Expect the people to be different IRL to how they seemed online.

Of course, none of this applies to men...

IRL

I avoid that.

Without reading the whole thread (it is 35 pages and it is late) what do people think of these things. I'm very shy when it comes to women, women I've got to know in life I've always felt very shy about asking them out on a date, so I never tend to do so. I've been single for too many years now, so I've just joined a dating website. Love 2 Love, partners the Manchester Evening News. Firstly, is it sad and a last resort to join one of these things and secondly, what experiences have people had on them.

As with others on this page I met my boyfriend on one and we've been together 2 years at the end of this month. :) You've just got to be confident, go on the date and see what happens. :) I'd reccommend emailing a little bit before meeting.

There's only one David Bussell and you'd better move quick before he's taken.

Is already too late judging from Facebook. ;)

Aye - the Bussell seems to have snared himself a lady... and ringed her.

You've been away and this man has needs!

Well, you know where I live. You just have to come round.

I was round at the weekend while you were away. I do enjoy a nice illicit pantie-draw rifle. ;)

Yeah, special needs.

Erm...no, that isn't right...

First response. Probably lives a bit far away for me though.

Having done the dating in London, I was quite fussy about where they lived. I didn't want to have the issue of if things got serious having ages to travel to go and see them a couple of times a week.
